Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookie
To be honest, the recipe chocolate chip cookie that is on the chocolate chip package is perfectly fine. However, just in case you've become tired of that one, this recipe is a touch more "gourmet."
3 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 vanilla beans, split length--wise
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
1 cup plus 2 tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup plus 2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Scrape vanilla bean seeds from pods into electric mixer. Add butter and sugars, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract. Add flour and beat until dough just comes together Stir in chocolate and walnuts, being careful not to overmix.
Form dough for recipe chocolate chip cookie into 1 ½ inch balls. Arrange two inches apart on wax paper lined baking sheet. Flatten balls slightly and bake in middle of oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool your cookies on racks.
Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookie -- LOW FAT
2 tbsp soft butter
2 tbsp canola oil
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats
1 pkg (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate baking chips
2 tbsp sugar
In mixer bowl, beat butter, oil and brown sugar until smooth. Add egg, applesauce and vanilla; beat until blended. Beat in baking powder, salt, soda, and flour. Scrape sides of bowl; stir in oats and chocolate.
Bake right away to prevent cookies from being dry. Drop dough in 1 tbsp portions onto lightly oiled baking sheets. Dip fingertips in granulated sugar, then pat cookies into rounds.
Bake in 350 oven about ten minutes. Cool on racks.
Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookie made with White Chocolate
2/3 cup butter, plus 2 tbsp.
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
3 1/2 oz macadamia nuts; chopped
6 oz white chocolate chopped into ½ inch pieces.
Heat oven to 325 F. Grease cookie sheets.
In mixer bowl, beat butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until fluffy. Add flour, beating until just blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate.
Drop by heaping tbsps onto cookie sheets. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for five minutes, then move to wire rack.
